Schreiben Leonard Peltiers anlässlich des 6.2.2020 (Beginn seines 45. Haftjahres)/Letter Leonard Peltiers about February 6th, 2020 (Beginning of his 45th year in prison)

Wenn sich das Datum „6. Februar “  nähert, denke ich an die Jahre, die ich hier drinnen verbrachte seit meiner Gefangennahme und Ich möchte mich bedanken für all die wundervolle Liebe und Unterstützung die ihr mir über all die Jahre gezeigt habt und möchte euch dabei wissen lassen, dass diese Unterstützung meinen Geist gesund gehalten hat; und wenn es ganz trübe aussieht erinnere ich mich an die wundervollen Briefe, Karten (z. Zt. sind Karten nicht mehr erlaubt, MK) und Bücher, nicht zu vergessen das kommissarisch mir Geld zugedachte, dass ihr all die Jahre mir (bzw. kommissarisch seinem Verteidigungsfond und dem ILPDC, MK) habt zukommen lassen. Ich möchte euch wissen lassen, dass nach zweijährigem Kampf wir hier im USP Coleman I endlich wieder eine Schwitzhütte haben. Und ich danke euch erneut für eure Briefe an das Gefängnis, die mein Recht und dass anderer indigener Brüder unterstützt hat unsere Religion zu zelebrieren.

Ich hoffe ihr schreibt weiterhin an Präsident Trump und bittet um meine Begnadigung und/oder seine Hilfe für meine Verlegung in das FCI Oxford in Wisconsin. Oxford ist für meine Familie, die in Fargo/Nord Dakota lebt,  nur eine fünfstündige Fahrt  und von meiner Heimat, die Turtle Mountain Reservation/ND, 8 Stunden entfernt. Es wäre wunderbar meine älteren Brüder und Schwestern wiederzusehen, die ansonsten die lange und teure Fahrt nach Florida nicht unternehmen könnten.

Nun ist es Zeit, dass die Lichter ausgeschaltet werden, so nochmals Danke für eure großartige Unterstützung und falls ihr Fragen habt, bitte ruft das ILPDC-Büro unter 001 – 218-790-7667 (dies ist die Durchwahl von Deutschland aus) an.

 As February 6th is approaching, I am thinking of the years spent inside, Since my capture and I want to thank for all the wonderful love & support you have shown me over the years and let you know that this support kept my Spirit healthy; and when it looks bleak I remember all the wonderful letters, cards & books not to mention the commissary money you have all sent me over the years. I want to let you know that after a 2 year struggle we finally have a new Sweat Lodge, here at USP Coleman! And thank you again for your letters to the prison in support of the right for myself and other Native brothers to practice our religion.

I hope you are still writing to President Trump requesting clemency and or his help in getting me a transfer to FCI Oxford WI. Oxford is only about a 5-hr. drive for my family that lives in Fargo ND. and 8hrs. from my home Turtle MT. ND. It would be wonderful to see my older sisters & brothers again who can’t make the long expensive trip to FL.”
