Musikalischer Protest gegen die Hinrichtung Rodney Reeds & Spenden für Jugendmusikprojekte. (german/english)

Mit den Konzerten von COVER TO COVER sowie HUNDRED SEVENTY SPLIT (mit Joe Gooch – ex TEN YEARS AFTER und Woodstock-Legende und TEN YEARS AFTER Mitgründer Leo Lyons) konnten für Jugendmusikprojekte 400,00 € plus ein Drumset, eine E-Gitarre und eine Mandoline als Spenden organisiert werden. Das Geld geht zu 60% an den BEAR CAVE, ein Teenager-Selbstmord-Präventionsprojekt in der Pine Ridge Reservation für junge Native Americans, zu 20% an die John Lee Hooker Foundation, die in der San Francisco-Oakland Area damit für benachteiligte Kids-, Musik-, Kunst-, Bildungs- und Gesundheitsprojekte organisiert und zu 20% an offRock für Offenbacher Jugendmusikprojekte. Danke an alle Spender*innen.

Bei dem Konzert von COVER TO COVER widmete Special-guest-Singer Michael Koch seinen Part dem indianischen politischen Gefangenen Leonard Peltier und dem von der Todesstrafe bedrohten Rodney Reed. Den von Koch 2011 für den in Georgia hingerichteten Troy Davies geschriebenen Song GEORGIA nannte er spontan auf der Bühne in “TEXAS” um, um somit über Schicksal und Fall des in der Todeszelle sitzenden Rodney Reed zu informieren und gegen die drohende Hinrichtung Reeds am 20.11.2019 zu protestieren

At the COVER TO COVER concert special-guest-singer Michael Koch dedicated his part of the concert native american political prisoner Leonard Peltier and death row prisoner Rodney Reed. The 2011 by Mike Koch written song GEORGIA, once dedicated executed p.o.c. Prisoner Troy Davies, Koch on stage spontanoues changed in TEXAS. Now he dedicated the song Rodney Reed, a death row inmate, whos execution is planned for November 20th 2019. Koch informed about the case, a racist police-, justice and prison system and protests against the execution of Rodney Reed.
