“Heraus zum 1. Mai” war ein altes Motto in den Aufrufen zu den 1. Mai-Demonstrationen. Das inhaftierte Mitglied der BEWEGUNG 2. Juni, Fritz Teufel, schrieb aus der Haft hierzu, dass ihm auch jeder andere Termin recht sei. Einen Monat vor dem U.S: Parole Commission Hearing, das über eine mögliche Bewährungshaftentlassung Leonard Peltiers entscheiden wird, nach dem diese Kommission dies 2009 ablehnte, nehmen auch in Europa die Aktionen für Peltiers Freiheit enorm an Fahrt auf.

Seit Anfang des Jahres koordiniert die EUROPE FOR PELTIER 2024 COALITION, eine Kampagnen-Initiative, die durch Anregungen unseres Vereins entstand, zu unterschiedlichen Anlässen Aktionen und Aktivitäten in den jeweiligen Teilnehmer-Ländern.

In Deutschland finden weiterhin regelmäßige monatliche Mahnwachen in drei Städten statt: Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main. Weitere Straßenaktionen in Berlin und Karlsruhe kamen dazu.

Auch vier Jahre nach Beginn unserer Postkarten-Aktion für Peltier an das Weiße Haus werden hunderte Karten an US-Präsident Joe Biden verschickt. Und seit Anfang des Jahres kamen weitere 500 Unterschriften für Peltiers Freiheit auf unseren Unterschriftenlisten hinzu.

In zahlreichen deutschen und italienischen Zeitungs- und Magazinveröffentlichungen sowie in einem neuen Reader zu “Indigenen Widerstand in den Americas” wird über Leonard Peltiers Schicksal regelmäßig berichtet.

Informationsstände bei überegionalen Veranstaltungen und die gerade begonnene 14. Lese- und Vortragsreise “One Life for Freedom – Leonard Peltier und der indigene Widerstand informieren in Deutschland und der Tschechischen Republik über Peltiers Schicksal und aktuelle indigene Kämpfe

Im Rahmen des US-Parole Commission Hearings findet eine eurapaweite Briefaktion statt, die mit Peltiers beiden Anwälten koordiniert wird……..

“Out for 1 May” was an old slogan in the calls for the 1 May demonstrations. The imprisoned member of the 2nd June Movement, Fritz Teufel, wrote from prison that any other date would be fine with him. One month before the U.S. Parole Commission hearing, which will decide whether Leonard Peltier should be released on parole after the Commission rejected this in 2009, the actions for Peltier’s freedom are also gaining enormous momentum in Europe.

Since the beginning of the year, the EUROPE FOR PELTIER 2024 COALITION, a campaign initiative that was initiated by our organisation, has been coordinating campaigns and activities in the respective participating countries on various occasions.

In Germany, regular monthly vigils continue to take place in three cities: Leipzig, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt am Main. Further street actions were added in Berlin and Karlsruhe.

Even four years after the start of our postcard campaign for Peltier to the White House, hundreds of cards have been sent to US President Joe Biden. And since the beginning of the year, a further 500 signatures in favour of Peltier’s freedom have been added to our signature lists.

Leonard Peltier’s fate is regularly reported in numerous German and Italian newspaper and magazine publications as well as in a new reader on “Indigenous Resistance in the Americas”.

Information stands at supra-regional events and the 14th reading and lecture tour “One Life for Freedom – Leonard Peltier and the Indigenous Resistance”, which has just begun, provide information in Germany and the Czech Republic about Peltier’s fate and current indigenous struggles

As part of the US Parole Commission Hearing, a Europe-wide letter campaign is being organised, coordinated with Peltier’s two lawyers……..
